Gone are the days when body building used to be only men’s forte. These days, women are equally competing with men in almost all the fields and body building is not an exception by any means. There are lots of women who take part these days and the number seems to be growing up year after year.

A lot of people seem to have the misconception that women cannot take part in heavy weight training methods and that their bodies are not suitable for such strenuous methods of training. You can safely say that none of it is true and there have been a lot of them in the past and there are a lot of them right now who could be quoted as the right examples to prove this misconception wrong.

Women also take part in heavy weight training schedules, work out like crazy each and every day, take care of the nutrition part, keep their body very fit, and also take part in a lot of amateur and professional competitions. Everyone knows that our bodies need regular exercise. It is not only good for losing those unwanted pounds but it also helps maintain a healthy body weight and boosts our metabolism. It also strengthens the muscles and bones. It builds stamina and endurance, which are necessary for people who have hectic lifestyles. Everybody knows that it is a very important aspect in our life that should be done by all. Unfortunately, not all of us do these, and with all sorts of reasons! Many of us would rather sleep than exercise – a sad matter of fact that we all are familiar with.

The following tips are very helpful in maintaining body weight, especially for women. Women are more prone to osteoporosis, among other things, and this is why exercise is very beneficial to them. A lot of women are also under great pressure to keep them sexy and beautiful so incorporating some of these tips into their lifestyle would be great for them.

Normally, it is ideal to exercise 2 to 3 days a week for 20-60 minutes. For some, this may be fine but for many, this is nearly impossible. The demands of family, work, and friends will certainly keep you away from the gym. However, it is important to keep the commitment and just adjust. You may worry that your fitness routine is not enough. In reality, you are doing more exercise than what most people are doing. Just keep the pace and if possible, increase it gradually over time.

Lots of women tend to lean towards cardio exercises but the best way is to do lifting of weights first. The advantage of doing lifting first is that physical changes will be visible in a matter of months or weeks. Another aspect to keep in mind is the heart rate. The general recommendation is to do exercise 75-80% of their optimal heart rate. Many women are unaware that they are using just 50% of their heart rate so it would be best to monitor it. A device can be attached to the body or look for gym equipment that comes with this feature for you to use.

As with any endeavor, commitment and discipline are always the keys to success. Surround yourself with people with similar activities or give yourself some pep talk.

Running clubs and other fitness clubs will keep you in the mood and also open your social life to people with similar goals in mind. Assessing yourself will always give you a boost in confidence. We all understand that everyone needs a little self-esteem so do not be shy in giving yourself some words of confidence or encouragement.

Whoever said that men lose weight with fewer complications was right. It happens to be true. Men are less caring about weight loss programs. Actually there are women who consider themselves to be thin reaching the age of 35 and even when they weight the same amount of pounds at 40 their attitude towards their weight might be totally different. It could be funny if it wasn’t so. In reality they could be right as they may basically be fatter than they used to be five years ago.

It is silly to trust the scale to deal with the previously mentioned problem. Your weight is not always the explanation to what is going on inside your body. There is an example to consider on the current matter. A grown woman with two kids at the age of 30 weights 63 kg. At that point, only the quarter percentage of her body is made up of fat. (Pros consider 23% to 33% body fat healthy for ladies between the ages of 40 to 60).

It should be mentioned that the case is not fulfilled until she turns 49. Her weight might not be different, but the percentage of fat will change from 25 to 35%. This is a result of gaining some weight and losing some muscles she had 19 years ago.

The compactness of muscles is higher than fat is. So it turns out to be that the same amount of kilos will occupy more body space than muscles do. This means that when she weights the same she becomes fatter.

Many people go on talking about muscles and how they burn calories when the body activates in the right way. The solution here is to gain back some muscles in order to get rid of fatness. There are a lot of advices a woman could take but here are some of the most important ones. The first advice is the one any woman hates the most – she needs to start controlling the amount of calories she takes and compare it with the amount she needs to take.

The next advice is to keep the diet and eat wisely. This is the major concern. Women that have little children meet some significant difficulties as their stomach receives the food that belongs there and does not. When their kids do not finish their meals it is their mothers that finish it and gain the weight.
