1. Janushirsasana: Start by sitting on floor with the legs in front of you and straight. Now bend your left leg such that foot’s sole rests on inside thigh of the right leg. Women’s health and fitness issues have become a major part of our mindset. Many of the programs that are designed to promote women’s health and fitness are structured at gyms and other fitness clubs.

Some of the fitness workouts utilize yoga and other stretching techniques, and these workout classes are able to afford women of all ages the opportunity to achieve a healthier lifestyle.

Women have become much more aware of their bodies and have engaged in more physically activity. There are exercise classes that are specifically designed for women at many community centers and gyms. Most of these classes offer programs that increase flexibility and strengthen cardiovascular function. Some of the more popular programs include Pilates, yoga, spinning, stepping, and dance.

There are also health and fitness classes for women that incorporate elements of body building and weight lifting. Women have been involved in some of these types of exercises in the past, but these classes are now gaining more participants on a weekly basis.

One of the reasons that women may have been reluctant to participate in classes such as weight training is that they may be concerned about developing muscles. Many women may be worried that they will start developing large biceps and leg muscles. But this is not the case.

Although there are many professional female bodybuilders who do indeed have extremely pronounced muscles, they workout specifically for the world bodybuilding championships.

Women’s weight training will help tone the body and offer more definition to muscles without increasing and adding large bulk.

If you wish to learn how to incorporate some good bodybuilding and weight training methods into your fitness routine, check out the local gym in your area and find a professional instructor. He or she can teach you how to use the equipment properly, and develop safe and appropriate techniques to help you realize your fitness goals.

Taylor Ryan asked:

Here are ten tips to improve your fitness health. Even athletes who are incredibly fit may not be really healthy. They often tread a fine line between health and illness or injury.

1) Listen to your body. As you are training it is easy to become preoccupied with the repetitions you are doing, or the time you have been exercising. Leave your watch at home and slow down or walk when your body hurts- but on the same note do not be afraid to push yourself, the gym should not be a leisurely walk in the park if you are wanted to get sculpted. You must learn you understand your body

2) To improve your fitness health you need to eat a varied diet. Five fruit and vegetables a day should be your minimum target. Your health will improve if you eat at least five different kinds of fruit, then any vegetables will be a bonus.

3) Take a complete day off from exercise every once in a while. It does not have to be every week, but doing extra training when you are tired may have a detrimental effect on your health and fitness. You become fitter and healthier through rest as much as exercise. My off day is generally Sunday

4) For muscle increase up protein intake: make sure every meal includes good protein sources: lean meats, poultry, seafood, dairy, and beans are great examples. Do no be afraid to include protein shakes in your diet: WHEY is a great source and it takes awesome

5) Understand technique before trying anything new. This will insure that you will not cause injury and you will maximize the results you want. If you have questions consult a gym professional or another reliable source.

6) You will improve your health and fitness by stretching more. Your muscles get shorter through exercise, and if you never stretch you will get injured. One method is to warm up slowly first, then spend several minutes stretching before the main workout. Stretch thoroughly after exercise as well.

7) You need to stay hydrated if you are exercising more. This means drinking water and sports drinks if you are sweating a lot. You lose minerals in your body while sweating. It is recommended to drink five glasses of water a day, but if you are working out you need to drink more than this. Do not get carried away, though, because it can be just as dangerous to drink too much as too little.

8) Exercise with other people. You will meet new friends, and your fitness will improve if you have other people to motivate you.

9) Do not become too competitive as this may harm your health. Motivation from other people is good, but you should only compete against yourself. Try too hard to keep up with someone else, and you could become injured. This goes back to understanding your body: if you know it can not handle something then PLEASE do not do it.

10) Have fun! Your health and fitness will improve if you are having fun because you will stick to your exercise program.

Nick Tumminello asked:

Ive been a strength and coniditioning coach for over 10 years now working with athletes and fitness enthusiasts of all levels. Over those ten years Ive used just about every new type of training and exercise under the sun.

With this type of expirience you really start to understand what works and what doesn’t.

Ufornutantley, many of the exercises that really don’t work are the very same ones that the health and fitness magazines are promoting and making popular. This ends up sending many eager exercises down the wrong path

The other isssue is that many less expirenced fitness instructors are also following the magazines and using these same un-effective exercises on a regular basis with clients who are spending their hard on money on something that they hoped  they couldn’t get on their own.

My goal with this article is to show you why one f the most poplar exercise specialy amoungst women, the kneeling push, is pretty much a watse of time.

In addition, I will provide you with a much better alternative push up exercsise fro those who cant do regular push ups. This alternative is mouch more effective at building muscle definition and strength while burning more calories.

No More Kneeling Push Ups

My issue with the kneeling push up has nothing to do with mechanics or safety, in that respect the movement is okay. My issue is one of progression, or in this case, a lack there of.

In the past, I have used the kneeling push up as a regression strategy.  I did this in the hopes that it had some progression potential and would eventually lead into normal push-ups

Unfortunately, I have found little to no carry over from the kneeling push –up to the regular push-up.

I can’t tell you why the kneeling push-up doesn’t carryover, it could be lever arm length, it could the angle difference, I really don’t know, it just doesn’t.

What I can tell you is that I have seen 100’s of people who could bang out endless reps of kneeling push-ups but still couldn’t even come close to performing a single regular push-up.

The kneeling push up is what I call a “dead end” exercise. Keep doing them and you will go nowhere!

Luckily, we have found a much better regression / progression strategy.

Incline push-ups

An incline push up is performed basically like the traditional style push up except you hold onto a object like a racked barbbell in the gym or the side of your bed if your at home.

The concept here is pretty simple, because you are at an incline there’s less force on the moving muscles and torso stabilizers. Which intern makes the push-up easier?

The best place to do this is on a smith machine because it’s easy to adjust and keep track of the bar depth from session to session.

Once someone can perform 20 quality reps at one height, we simply lower the bar one or two pegs.  The lower the bar gets the harder the push up becomes.

As I said earlier, just because someone can easily perform kneeling push-ups doesn’t necessarily mean that they can do any real push-ups.

However, I can promise you from years of experience that if someone can perform 20 reps at a low bar setting; they can definitely bang out a few good reps from the floor.

In the end, this means that your getting stronger. If you’re stronger than you have more muscle. Because muscle is the shape of your body, you will most definitely look better.

How much weight you are looking to lose and if you are looking just to tone up or lose weight too. But with all the options that are available for women’s fitness training, it should be fairly easy to find one that will suit your personal needs.

One option that women tend to really like for women’s fitness training are aerobics classes. Your local gym or sometimes a YMCA center usually offers these. These are great for losing weight, because the fat burns off a lot easier with aerobics. However if you are looking to tone up you will need to add some weight training to the mix as well.

This is also great because a lot of the exercises and equipment are geared specifically towards women and their needs. You may also want to choose a gym that will allow you take advantage of a personal trainer. This can help you get a better workout that is just for your needs.

Yet another option for women’s fitness training is purchasing home gym equipment. This can be a little expensive but worth it in the long run. This is mostly for those who don’t have the time to get out to a gym on a regular basis. Home gyms are also a good option for those who don’t feel comfortable working out in front of other people. There are many good ones out there and even some that may be geared specifically towards women and their personal workout needs.

When it comes to women’s fitness training there are definitely a few options out there to choose from. Once again it is really up to you which one will work best for your fitness goals and needs. But whichever option you choose you are well on your way to a healthier and happier life.
