I’ve never heard of or seen a French women who wanted to lose weight. Despite the fact that their diet consists of eating bread, cheese and drinking wine. It seems like they just know how not to pick up weight.

After all its been working for them for centuries and it is all about a common lifestyle. The secret to staying slim for them is all about the portions they eat. Their main meal which includes protein is not larger than one third of a pound. The French also include a lot of vegetables and salads with each meal.

French people love to eat real cheeses and cannot stomach eating processed cheeses. Now, the secret in eating a small portion of cheese is that it helps you feel full and you do not crave for snacks later.

The French believe in drinking 1-2 glasses of red wine per day. We all know that red wine is healthy for our hearts and it is loaded with antioxidants that neutralize the free radicals within your body.

Although most of the French woman’s diet consists of small portions, they like to eat big portions of fresh vegetables and fruits. The majority of fresh vegetables and fruits are low in calories and have a high nutritional value.

They also drink a lot of water which keeps their metabolic rate in high gear to burn calories.

We have a habit of consuming a lot more food than French women do and perhaps we can learn something from them. If we copy them by eating smaller portions more often and avoid certain foods, it is sure bet that we will be able to lose weight and keep it off permanently.
