In the United States the responsibility for health and safety issues in the workplace comes under the remit of the United States Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). In the construction industry there is input provided by the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health (ACCSH), an independent committee that offers an additional viewpoint to OSHA on construction safety issues.
