Many pregnant women who are afflicted with acne just don’t know what to do about it. Many feel very bad about it to the point of hysteria, but should they? This article looks closely at how and why acne affects pregnant women and what they can do about it… as well as what they should not do when afflicted with acne.
If you are a woman and you are pregnant you don’t have to take or do anything to get rid of acne. Lots of pregnant women get afflicted with acne as a side effect of the pregnancy. While there are acne solutions that might help, for lots of pregnant women the acne can’t be gotten rid of, no matter what kind of acne cream, lotion or pill they take. They will have to endure until they give birth and allow few more weeks for the acne to start clearing. And in most cases, the acne clears without them using any cream or lotion.
But if you must take any acne cream, lotion or pill when you are pregnant, it’s important to seek the guide of your doctor first. As a pregnant woman there are certain drugs that you are not allowed to take, for your safety and the safety of your unborn child. You will be surprised that even topical acne lotions might have side effects for you as a pregnant women. So, ensure that you talk to your doctor about this before going ahead to take any acne treatment when you are pregnant. As they say, it’s always safe to err on the side of caution.
As a pregnant woman, no matter what any acne cream or lotion promoter says, it will take time for you to begin seeing results when using any acne treatment. I still see lots of acne creams or lotions being advertised as quick-fixes for acne, but that’s not really true. You should expect to start seeing results after at least two weeks to as long as eight weeks.
Also, while undergoing acne treatment as a pregnant woman, there are instances when your skin will actually look worse before it begins looking better. When this happens you shouldn’t panic. Instead, take it in your stride because it’s bound to happen and it will be a thing of the past when you give birth eventually. So, it’s good to be aware of what to expect before starting any acne treatment or using any acne cream, lotion or pill.
