Getting to the heart of the matter

Category: Diet Tips

Let’s remember that nobody can know more about your health, than your own family doctor and any suggestions here must not replace any advice given by your doctor. Your doctor will know what is a healthy diet for you when you are pregnant. Everybody is different and every pregnancy is different. The doctors advice is the best to take and the following are guidelines only.

Getting a well balanced diet is not only important for the pregnant women but for her unborn baby as well. The saying “eating for two” jumps into mind and visions of a fat pregnant women stuffing herself with all the food she can get in her mouth. Of course, her doing so shows a total disregard for herself and her unborn child.

Eating a healthy diet the pregnant women is not only looking after herself, which isn’t a bad idea, but also she is building a strong foundation for the health of the unborn child. This being what all mothers want for their children, a strong healthy start to life can be reflected on how healthy the mother is during pregnancy. Of course sometimes this can be out with her control due to many other factors too numerous to mention here.

Over eating can be a mistake easily made by the mother to be and she should refrain from such a habit. Not only is this an unhealthy practice but can lead to weight problems during and after pregnancy. It’s easier to keep the weight off rather than having to fight to get it off later. The new baby in your life will keep you occupied enough without you having to worry about losing weight.

When feeling a bit peeved or frustrated fight the urge to have chocolate cake, during pregnancy, which will only make you gain weight that will be rather more difficult to lose later on. Try snacking on a bit of fruit or have a bowl of muesli, even beans on toast would be a better alternative.

The healthy diet for a pregnant women referred to here, is not one for you to lose weight rather to eat healthily for you and obviously for your unborn child. What food should you eat to stay healthy? Well, the obvious foods would be fresh fruit and vegetables. Remember that dark green vegetables are rich in iron and should always be part of at least the main meal of the day.

Vitamin supplements are used in conjunction with food not as an alternative, people tend to forget that natural food has an abundance of nutrients that you can only get through a balanced healthy diet. Staying away from sweets seems like common sense but if you are accustomed to the odd sweet or two then you may have to build up your willpower to refrain from eating them.

Being pregnant means the food you eat is kept in your intestines for longer. This is caused by hormones in your system that prevent you going into labour early and means you get more nutrition absorbed into your system. Keeping constipation at bay could easily be done by drinking lots of fluids. Your body’ s system needs frequently flushed out.

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition published in its February 2006 a report containing conclusions of a research team at University of Arizona, related to links between high fiber diets and colorectal adenoma recurrence.

According to team findings, men who prefer a diet rich in fiber have a significantly reduced risk of colorectal adenoma recurrence. The study conclusions suggests that sex differences in response to fiber diets, as no such effect has been seen in women. The research team notes that many evidences in specific literature show that fiber may influence the colon differently, depending on sex.

Although the process by which these differential response happen remains unclear, future researches should include complicated sex analyses as well as further study of the influence of fiber diets on specific colon locations.

To assess the effect of dietary action as a whole and by sex in the pooled group of 3209 subjects a model of logistic regression were used by researchers. No major effect on adenoma recurrence was concluded in the targeted population. However, among men, fiber was linked with a significant reduced risk of recurrence. Among women wasn’t observed any significant association.

While the causes for these different reactions regarding sexes are still unknown, the study advanced the supposition that the differences between the sexes regarding colonic location of tumors and polyps could be the answer.

Many women have a hard time getting the kind of sexy abs that they desire. And indeed, it is difficult for a woman to get ripped abs because it’s hard to get rid of that stubborn layer of belly fat most women have. The reason why so many women fail to get a flat stomach is because they don’t know how to go about it. They don’t have a diet and fitness plan which can burn that belly fat right off. So, what is the best abs diet for women who want to get a flat stomach?

I believe that the best abs diet for women is the massively popular Truth About Abs program by trainer Mike Geary. The reason why I believe it is an excellent abs diet and workout program for women is that it is perfectly adaptable to the modern woman lifestyle.

The Truth About Abs is based on short and intensive workouts which fit into the busy schedule of most women. It provides detailed nutritional guidelines which can be followed by any woman. You have great freedom in food selection and preparation. Above all, the Truth About Abs is less focused on building abs muscles than on burning body fat in general and belly fat in particular. This is perfect for women because most women don’t really want six pack abs, they just want a flat and firm stomach.

What is also great about the Truth About Abs is that it takes a complete body approach meaning that you will lose body fat from all the trouble spots on your body like your thighs, hips, and butt, and not just from your abs. For women in particular who usually have more than one trouble spot, this is doubly effective. You will not only lose belly fat, you will tone your entire body in the process.

In this article I will tell you about how women can lose weight in just a matter of days.

Weight Loss is a major problem faced by different age groups. But there are various diet tips by which you can control your weight, they are not too much hard and also they are not very easy, but you must read the following diet tips to lose weight:

Breakfast

Everyday, you should take breakfast, you can have a bowl of high-fiber cereal with a banana or yogurt. But if you are too lazy or you don’t have much time, then a healthy cereal bar would be fine. Without having a proper breakfast everyday, you won’t be able to drop your weight permanently.

Snacks

You should take a piece of fruit early in the morning and in afternoon as it helps keeping blood sugar level under control, this will also reduce hunger pains, especially if you have eaten a piece of fruit usually 30 minutes before a meal.

Portion Control

If you want to lose your weight permanently, then you must have to control portion size at every meal. Three roast potatoes, meat larger than a pack or a plate which is full of pasta is not we call portion control as it is called as too big portion size. If you are having some serious crippling hunger pains then fill up a large bowl of salad or fresh vegetables first.

Benefits Of Protein

Protein has been shown to have appetite suppressive benefits. If you are taking just a little bit of high quality protein for each main meal, then it will surely help in cutting appetite and suppress cravings. Besides this, protein is very important for maintaining lean muscle mass for optimum.

The trick for each and every diet is that, to find the best and the most comfortable way to reduce calorie consumption without having to starve. If you are planning to lose your weight permanently then you should never try to reduce your calories in early days or very soon, as this will cause the weight loss plateau as metabolism lowers.

Approximately 4% of women who are pregnant in the United States will be affected by gestational diabetes. It is a misunderstood disease in that medical research has been unable to pinpoint why women suffer from it during pregnancy only to see it disappear after the baby is born. The stress and increased hormonal activity associated with pregnancy is thought to be a factor but women who are at risk will need to follow a diet for gestational diabetes.

Expectant mothers who were already diabetic at the time of conception will also need to follow this type of diet.

Any woman with gestational diabetes should consult with a registered dietician to help create the proper diet plan for her and her unborn baby. Control of blood sugar levels during pregnancy is of the utmost importance and modification of dietary intake is the best way to accomplish this.

During a pregnancy the goal of the diet for gestational diabetes is to ensure the proper amount of calories and nutrients for the mother and baby while also keeping blood glucose levels under control. The diet itself is individualized to each woman based on her height and weight.

Blood glucose levels will also need be tested and measured at least four times a day. This is done to ensure that the woman’s blood sugars remain under control through out the day. The frequency of testing can be decreased once good glucose control is established but self monitoring will need to continue through out the pregnancy.

It is important that the meal plan meet the nutritional and weight gain needs of a normal pregnancy. During the first trimester of a normal pregnancy the woman should gain from 2 to 4 pounds. Once the second and third trimester starts the weight gain should average a pound a week. Caloric intake will need to be increased by approximately 100 to 300 calories per day during the second trimester. At the same time protein will need to be increased to 10 grams per day. This can be accomplished by drinking 2 glasses of milk or eating 1 to 2 ounces of meat each day.

One of the biggest dangers of inadequate caloric intake is diabetic ketoacidosis. A pregnant woman should never restrict the amount of calories she eats unless so directed by her doctor. The calories she does eat should come from highly nutritious foods and should not be less then 1700 to 1800 per day.

Any pregnant woman who is diagnosed with this dangerous disease will need to follow a diet for gestational diabetes to ensure the health and well being of her unborn baby.

Wandering whether you can find the effective Belly Reducing diet plan that really works for women after menopause? Are you about 50 years old? Do you experience weight gain or difficulty maintaining your usual weight? Do you notice an increase in belly fat?

As you enter the early stages of menopause, maintaining weight becomes more and more difficult, and losing weight becomes almost impossible.

1. Why to get rid of belly fat after menopause

The negative effects on your health

Gaining fat in your abdomen is particularly unhealthy when compared to other locations in your body. Excess belly fat increases your risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, Breast cancer, Colorectal cancer, High blood pressure or Metabolic syndrome.

Most women after menopause (around 2/3 of women) experience weight gain or difficulty maintaining their usual weight. Most women will gain about 10 to 15 pounds during their menopausal years. You also discover that the weight gain tends to accumulate around the abdomen, rather than the hips and thighs as it did before menopause. People commonly refer to this as an “apple” shape, because the stomach area becomes more round. An extra pound before menopause will settle evenly over hips, bottom, thighs, and arms. After menopause, it all goes round the middle! Most of this weight will come on gradually – generally about a pound a year.

2. How to get rid of belly fat after menopause

It is not impossible!

As you enter the early stages of menopause, maintaining weight becomes more and more difficult, and losing weight becomes almost impossible.

This is because of the fluctuation in your hormones. Your body’s hormones have a direct impact on your appetite, metabolism, and fat storage. At this stage, women develop “insulin resistance” making their bodies store fat, rather than burn calories.

3. Healthy diet

Changing unhealthy eating habits can help fight belly fat. Read nutrition labels, and replace saturated fats with polyunsaturated fats. Increase portions of complex carbohydrates like fruits and vegetables, and reduce simple carbohydrates like white bread and refined pasta. If you need to lose weight, reduce your portion sizes and daily calorie intake.

4. Belly reducing exercises

It is not sit-ups or crunches nor leg lifts or the “bicycle” maneuver. Remember. By doing crunches and other stomach exercises you will get great ab muscles but you will not reduce your belly fat that is keeping them hidden!

The best belly reducing exercise you can do is jogging, or any other cardio exercises like walking or swimming.

Whether it’s because of heredity, hormonal changes or aging-related weight gain, many women notice an increase in belly fat as they grow older – and especially after menopause.

Weight loss for women over 40 is a different story than when they were 20 and needs to be dealt with as such. Middle-aged women are not just dealing with slower metabolisms, they are often dealing with hormonal imbalances which have side effects such as poor thyroid function, bloating, fluid retention and weight gain. Furthermore, by the time women get to their forties, many are chronically sleep deprived which is another factor that affects weight gain and loss. Most of them are also shopping and cooking for family members who can often effectively metabolize foods that they cannot.

Diets or dieting for women over 40 do not achieve the best weight loss results. The best approach to losing weight for middle-aged women is to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Give your body what it needs to function optimally and avoid foods that are nutritionally deficient as well as loaded with chemicals that overburden the liver. Given the eating, sleeping and exercise habits of modern women this change can be quite radical. It means avoiding packaged, processed foods that are high in sugars, fats, and chemicals and low in fiber and nutrients. This includes so-called diet products including diet sodas. Artificial sweeteners are much worse than natural sugars and can in fact be addictive.

A healthy diet for women over 40 will differ slightly to a good diet for a younger person. As we age, the body becomes less efficient in processing carbohydrates. Therefore, in order to lose body fat middle-aged women need to eat fewer carbohydrates. A diet that is high in protein, fruits and vegetables with plenty of pure water is the key to regaining health and fitness. It is also important to eat breakfast to kick start the metabolism for the day.

A number of smaller meals throughout the day are better for weight loss than three big meals. This is because larger meals release a lot of insulin into the blood which can interfere with metabolism. You will burn more fat with lower blood insulin levels. Some women may think that cutting their food right back will mean even lower insulin levels, lower calories and greater weight loss. However, if you cut back on your food intake too much you will lower your metabolic rate substantially and retain body fat. They key to losing weight is to eat only life giving, nutritious foods that your body can easily metabolize.

However, eating healthily is only the first step towards weight loss for women over 40. It is necessary to engage in regular aerobic exercise and strength training in order to increase their metabolic rate, burn fat and build lean muscle which uses more energy than fat.

Sleep is also important. Women who do not get eight hours of regular sleep a night are more likely to be overweight than those who do. If you make these lifestyle changes, yet you are finding losing weight is still difficult, you may be dealing with a hormonal imbalance. Estrogen dominance can cause weight gain which is difficult to shift. If this is the case, a natural low-dose progesterone cream may be helpful in restoring balance.

Weight loss for women over 40 does not have to be complicated. If you adopt a healthy lifestyle, you will be able to achieve and maintain a healthy body weight easily.

Here’s a simple, yet advanced, abs diet for women that will flatten your belly starting today. You’ll be able to achieve noticeable weight loss without starving or feeling deprived and suffering.

Abs Diet For Women

1. First things first, you need “bridge foods”

Bridge foods are foods that bridge your bad dietary habits into good dietary habits without you having to make radical diet changes. Bridge foods include black beans, lentils, and blackeyed peas.

These foods are cheap, high in protein, and high in fiber.

This is important since protein speeds up your metabolism and the fiber helps to clean out your digestive tract. Together, it’s a powerful duo. For instance, a 50 cent can of black beans has 25 grams of fiber and 25 grams of protein. That takes care of your fiber for the day.

I suggest you eat a 1/2 can of black beans with your breakfast and another 1/2 can with your lunch. Just get in a full can each day.

The fiber helps allow you to eat less for the rest of the day… so the earlier you get the fiber in during the day, the better. Note: I prefer black beans the most out of those 3 “bridge foods” because they take less than 5 minutes to cook.

Lentils has an even better nutritional profile, but they take upwards of 30 minutes to cook. I cook lentils in big batches.

2. Stick with proteins with all meals

Again, protein speeds up your metabolism. So with each meal, make sure you have a good bit of it. Chicken breasts, tuna, black beans, lean meats, fish, etc.

3. Apples as the perfect snack

Apples are in my opinion the perfect snack. They have a lot of water content in them and relatively high in fiber. Plus they’re easy to take with you. If you can, eat 3 a day as snacks. This simple tip alone will net you 2 pounds lost a month for the next 3 months.

Now, this diet is more like an outline for you to use as a guide. A one-size fits all diet would be in bad taste… so it’s much better that I give you a guide to work from.

So try this “abs diet for women” and flatten your belly starting today or tomorrow.

I’m going to help you develop your own bodybuilding diet for women. Surprisingly, a lot of the diet advice followed by men can be applied to women. Pay attention to the basics here and you should be able to apply this to make your own.

Eat every 2-3hrs: This is pretty basic and universal. All bodybuilders eat smaller meals more often for the simple reason of having a consistent flow of nutrients coming into their body to repair muscle tissue. Muscles don’t rebuild quickly or right after you workout. They take up to 48hrs to repair and you need to consistently feed them over time. Ever wonder why babies need to be fed every 2-3hrs? There bodies are growing at a fast rate. This is exactly what we want to happen to your body. High Carbs Only Around Your Workout: The best time to consume a high amount of carbs is around your workout. All that means is that the meal before your workout will be high in carbs and the meal after will be high in carbs. The pre-meal is to give your body the energy to have a very explosive workout. The post-meal is to replace all the lost nutrients, like glycogen, to the body. You can still eat carbs through out the day, but it should be less than you ate around your workout. Protein + Fat before bed: Bedtime is a hard time for bodybuilders because you’re unable to eat every 2-3hrs. You need a way to get nutrients for a period of 6-9hrs. The solution is a combination of fat and protein. Protein is the type of nutrient that can be used to build muscle. Fat is a slow digesting food that is used for vital body functions such as hormones. Put them together, you have a meal that will slowly digest throughout the night.

It’s making people richer at the expense of others

Fat loss diets for women has made millions of people rich. How? simple, these people “stalk” desperate women who would do anything to lose weight.

I **** it because they use misleading advertising

I don’t know about you but I do not believe some of the things they say about the diet plans on TV. I do not want to get into details lest I go against the powers that be and get into trouble but I am sure you know what I am talking about. The point is, most advertising for fat loss diets is misleading at least 80% of the time.

They do not tell you the things you need to know

Give a man fish and you have helped him for a day and teach the man how to fish and you would have helped him for a lifetime. I strongly believe in this philosophy. While it is all well and good to have a fat loss diet plan drawn out to you, you also need to understand the underlying factors.

You need a program that tells you what is causing you to gain weight and how the program will help you exactly.

The diets are not custom made for each unique woman

Every woman is different from the other. You are you and your body responds differently to different things. When a diet plan is being sold to the masses I often cringe because I doubt its effectiveness in all woman. In fact this goes to prove my point. To most seller it’s a numbers game, the more women who buy the more money they make.
