We had some awesome tea last night. It came from China I think, and it cost almost $100 for one pound! I’ve recently come to appreciate good tea and have since learned a lot about certain teas and how they benefit your health. These benefits are totally related to some great weight losing tips so I wanted to share them.
Green tea
Green tea is up there on the top of the list of foods that give us some of the most and biggest health benefits of all. Some other foods include bee pollen because of it’s many nutrients and all-round benefits. Omega 3 fatty acids have this reputation as well. Kiwifruit and blueberries have an extremely long list of health benefits and are called “super foods” by some nutritionists.
Back to the green tea. It’s benefits are not ancient myths as they once were because scientific research, both here in the west and in the east, have now proven solid facts about this drink that has been popular in the east for thousands of years.
What are some of the known benefits?
lowers bad cholesterol increases good cholesterol inhibits cancer cell growth reduces risk of esophageal cancer helps against infection helps against cardiovascular disease helps rheumatoid arthritis boosts immune function
How does it help with weight loss?
Green tea increases your metabolism and helps to regulate hunger. Clinical studies done at two universities, Geneva and Birmingham, showed green tea raises metabolism, speeds up fat oxidation, and improves insulin sensitivity.
Green tea contains catechin phenolics which raises thermogenesis, this means the heat produced by the body, and so increases our energy output as well.
Yerba Mate tea
If you should find yourself really going for green tea, you’ll want to try some yerba mate tea as well. This tea can also increase your energy, but unlike coffee, it does so without creating nervousness or those jittery feeling some people get from drinking coffee.
Yerba mate will work as an appetite suppressant and it stimulates the releasing of stored fat cells.
With so many ways we can get natural appetite suppressants, it’s amazing how many people still choose to pay big money for these products made by the pharmaceutical drug companies.
