Your suggestion is far too practical and logical for the bush regime to EVER implement.

We could replace all of our soldiers in Iraq with illegal immigrants. After all it IS a job nobody wants to do. Also the illegals could earn their citizenship by protecting this country abroad.

I agree 1000%. I did my time in the military and have see iraq first hand. Its not worth the price that our troops are taking. America needs all of our help and attention to straighten things up. Dont worry your not alone!

I think that we just gave ourselves such an impossible task over there. But if we leave then what the hell are they gonna do. First blow themselves up. They will likely develop some type of corrupt government that will have the sole goal of vengeance to America. I dont know what the best answer is at this point but Bush doesnt care he’ll be out of office and leave someone else to deal with the crazy problems that he started.

I don’t think protecting ourselves from the immports of affordable prescription drugs from Canada would make us safer and even if it would we should have decided that in March 2003 before we dismantled Iraq..as Colin Powel once said, you break it, you bought it. We can’t leave Iraq now for the following reasons:

1) It would take 18 months or more (according to the Washington Post) to remove all of our equipment and to evacuate our bases IF WE DECIDED TO LEAVE TODAY..so even if we told the Iraqis we were done we still would have to be bogged down there for a long time just due to logistics

2) Many of the Iraqis want us there in a diminished but still important role for some time yet..This includes the Kurds to protect them from Turkey, the Sunnis to protect from Shite death squads, and the Shites to protect them from the Sunnis/Al Qaeda.

3) If we left now completely then there could be civil war that spills over the borders into Iran, Syria, Turkey which could lead to regional unrest, high oil prices, and worst of all potential genocide..

4) Since someone asked, so how does this affect me other than high oil prices? Answer: A surge in anti-Israeli, anti-US terrorist group with a worst-case scenario of a powerful anti-US cleric like Al Sadr seizing the government thus leaving us with Saddam Jr.

So we may want to stay there for a long time in a lesser but still important role for sadly MANY years to come…Thank Bush Administration/U.S. Congress

al qeada is in iraq right now… there´s leader gave a new message yesterday, sayying they have almost won…. and god is on thier side, and man, we think they´re radical now…

how do you think they´ll if USA leaves and Al-qeada has defeted the most powerful military in the world…. then they take over Iraq… this is when the oil comes into the equation.

As the mother of a soldier on his 3rd tour, I think it would be great if the draft was started up so that the protection of this country’s freedom and welfare was shared by more Americans rather than the soldiers that are over there for the 3rd or 4th times. We are not leaving any time soon, peace will not happen any time soon, so why not get serious and have more people in the services so that the same families don’t have to carry the same hardships over and over and over. My Dad was a 20 year army soldier – he went to Viet Nam ONCE. That was enough to last a life time.

Yeah, and then we wake up in the real world and realise its better to take the war to the enemy before they manage to destroy us.
